Hello everyone,
Today at Enrich I continued to work on my home made crossword puzzle. It is a very difficult task, but I think I am up to the task. This an actually one of the most challenging tasks I have ever encountered at Enrich. Although it is a very hard task it is also one of the most fun activities. Over the past weeks that we have been working on our crosswords I have noticed that my vocabulary has improved and I have been opened into the wonderful world of words. It has been a great experience and I have toughly enjoyed it. I am so close to finishing, that I am sure by next week every newspaper in New Zealand would want to publish my crossword.
Until next time,
Yours truly,
Joey
Hi my name is Joey.I am a year 6 and I go to Enrich every Wednesday. I go to Enrich because I am an gifted individual. Some of the cool things we do at Enrich are passion time, mental edge and my absolute favorite affective domain where we find out about ourselves as a gifted learner. My strength areas are art and writing. My passion at the moment is science and writing. I am hoping to be a famous writer or scientist.

Christmas Carols
"Dashing through the snow in the one horse open sleigh, over the fields we go laughing all the way, ha hah ha ha!"
That desciption fits perfectly to today's lesson with Nicola, because it really was a bunch of laughs, and by the end of the session I was in a fit of giggles. But today's session was not just about having a good ol' laugh, but it was also about rehearsing for our next big performance. Oh silly me - I forgot to tell you what we are doing. Nicola has decided that we will go.. Christmas Caroling! It is going to be so much fun, I can't wait. We are going to perform outside New World in Windsor (fingers crossed) then we are going to get dressed up in cute little christmas costumes, hats, etc. So that is why we had to learn a new song. It is a medley of different christmas carols. It is quite challenging but I think I am up for it.

Joey

Can I tell you a secret?...
" Can I tell you a secret Joe, death isn't the thing that scares me the most, it's not being near you".
A touching line from the beloved classic. " Little Women".
In performance today we learnt a heart warming song from the musical version of it. The song is called "Some things are meant to be". It is a very sad because it depicts the scene where Joe and Beth are flying kites. Joe is trying to make every moment with her dying sister last.
It is a very challenging song to learn.
But I now have learn to adjust my voice and volume to suit certain songs.
Until next time,
Yours truly,

Waiting And Wondering
Standing in the cold damp and dreary wilderness, waiting for my prince. But deep deep down I have this horrible feeling that he is never going to come, and with every drooling moment this feeling grows and grows until uncertainty has overcome me.
This girl is a princess waiting for her prince. She has been waiting for a long time and she is always disappointed because he never comes. Some boys try to rescue her but they never get very far. One of them is a little mama's boy and the other one is so full of himself that he can't bear to leave his mirror! So I ask you dear reader, where is her happy ending?

THE PIT OF DOOM!
You feel alone falling and stumbling into "THE PIT" when you hit rock bottom you realize that the only way is up.
This morning Katie talked about the subject of affective domain and the pit. The pit is a dark place in the back of your mind. Everyone has one and it's just about how to control it. Every so often you will feel that your self confidence and self esteem levels are very low, and sooner or later you will fall into the pit. You feel as if you are a lost cause and that there is no hope for you in this abstract planet we call Earth. We talked about solutions to get out of the pit and the best way to get out is to talk to someone about your problem. But don't fall into the pit of DOOM!
Until next week dear reader - I bid you goodbye.

Got you!
"Yes ha ha I trapped you and you are forever my prisoner, you can not escape me so now feel my rathe of terror"!
But alas for the queen spoke to soon and with in a matter of minutes her knight was killed and the the queen swore to avenge the death of her beautiful knight.
With more malice killing it wasn't long before more than half of her beloved army was dead meaning victory to the opposition. Now who said chess wasn't a blood sport?

Beans!
Beans, Beans the wonder food - the more you eat the more you toot!
At Enrich today we were visited by many different types of beans. Legumes such as Runner beans, String beans, jumping beans, jelly beans and my absolute favourite - French beans, ooh La La!
It was such a shame that the beans couldn't stay to help us learn three new songs which were: Don't stop me now by Queen, Taller, Stronger, Better - by Guy Sebastian and Oh My - by Gin Wigmore. They were very challenging songs to learn but it was worth the practice because it sounded awesome.
Until next term, Joey

Fight for whats right!
Do you think Trees have rights?
We also discussed other fascinating topics such as..
# Do animals have rights?
#Do human have rights and what happens when they are taken away?
#Do you think that us as students should have the right to made important decisions?
My favorite topic to discuss was the last one, do you think us as students should have the right to make any important decisions. Jenni said we should have a debate about it. I was definitely in because I wanted my opinion to be heard. I was dubbed Captain and the debate was on. It was a very good session and I really enjoyed it. So if you are ever in a situation with different points of view for goodness sake "Don't hate DEBATE!"

Music with Nicola
Hi, guys
This Morning I wasn't at Enrich so sadly I missed out on Nicola's amazing performance group. They had to audition to see if they would get in. Luckily I didn't have to audition because I had already sang to Nicola earlier in the year. Our goal for the performance group is for us to go out into the community and sing and dance. We are going to put on live performances at Wachner Place.
Until next week,
Yours truly,
Joey

Tipping the scales of fate
The questions are hard, but to answer requires a lot of brains. but beware not to tip the scales of fate! Katie left us to ponder these questions and decide which side we think person should go on, if they are intelligent or if they are not. There was one question that got me stumped. it was this
''If a person who can read but struggles with writing does it mean that he is not gifted? What do you think?

Cain's Arcade
Cellotape, cardboard and your imagination are all you need to make an arcade as I was shown today with this inspiring documentary called ''Caine's Arcade''. In this movie I was shown that you don't have to have a lot of money to have a great time.
Caine started out with one game and it just snowballed into about ten arcade games altogether. In LA where Caine lived no-one was interested in playing Caine's homemade arcade, but by a strange circumstances a film maker came to Caine's dads shop for a door handle for his car and he saw Caine's arcade. He got a fun pass which allowed him to play for 500 turns for only $2.00. this film maker decided to make a movie about Cain. He posted it on Youtube and within 24 hours it got 3,0000 page views. I think that Cain's is a very gifted individual don't you?

Music to my ears
The tinkle of the piano, the splash of the harp and the strum of the guitar as it fills the room, this is music at it's best. I can hear a semibreve, shortly followed by two minims. Two bars later four crotchets and eight quavers.I can imagine Bark playing this melodic tune. I heard when he mourned and I mourned with him, when he was joyous I was joyous aswell. I knew that this was going to be something that would interest an individual like myself. Music makes me happy and something that I hopefully will keep up for a long time.
Until next time, Joey.
Until next time, Joey.

The hoop of DEATH!
The sun was glistening down on the hopeful faces of the teams. The excitement was in the air and in the midst of it all stood the hoop of DEATH. I thought I could conquer it as Goliath did with the giant. But boy was I wrong... I tried but always failed - my hopes were dashed. I looked at the bright blue hoop with wonderment and awe, and wondered how this simple task could be so hard, and then I realised that the hoop was laughing at me. I was now determined and focused but as soon as I got my mo-jo we were rushed inside.

I'm back at Enrich!
Hi, today at Enrich we did some pretty awesome things like....Picadilly Circus which is a Wilson game that makes you think and stratagise ways to get all of the balls around the circle. It was very hard but fun. I love playing wilson games because you get to get out and about, breathe in the fresh air and because I am a very energetic person. Wilson games are often the highlight of my day. Today was extra special because we some how managed to get the best score hopefully we will keep this title but it would be very hard to beat 28 seconds with three balls.
It is a great feeling to be back at Enrich, I love working with like minded people but most of all it's working with the awesome teachers. I think it's fair to say..... I LOVE ENRICH!!!
See you next time, Joey
